The Arizona flag was adopted February 27, 1917. The colors give a not to the Spanish flag for the conquistadors that had explored that part of western United States. It included 13 rays of light with the center star representing historic copper production in the state. The flag is consistently in the ‘Top 10’ of state’s flags.
