The Alaska flag was adopted on May 2, 1927 before Alaska was admitted into the Union. Upon becoming the 50th state the flag was adopted on January 3, 1959 and prominently features the constellation of the Big Dipper and Polaris. It was designed by fourteen year old orphan Benny Benson during a competition to design the flag of the territory.

A couple of notes. Reflective or safety vinyls may be brittle if constantly subject to bending or other stressors. It is not considered a manufacturing defect if the reflective vinyl spits, cracks or other wise deformes.
Patches are a layered product. The patch color is the outer most most visible area, i.e., Coyote brown. Depending on the choices selected, another layer may be offset cut to ‘line’ the perimeter of the text. The layer below that is the Reveal. The reveal can be a fabric material, or in its most basic presentation, the hook used to attach to equipment or clothing. There is an associated price increase the for additional layering is required by the customer.
